My future job (Post 5)

Hello!

I am studying public administration, the truth is that I wasn’t sure about my choice because I had no idea what the career was about, I only knew that it was related to the state, politicians, or something like that. Next year will be my third year in the career and now I can say that I have an idea of what it’s all about.

Although the university is in Santiago, I would really like to work where I live, so finding a job in a public service in Temuco would be really amazing.

About the workplace, I'm not really sure which utilities offer an outdoor workplace, there must be very few, so I imagine myself working in an enclosed space inside a building.

On the other hand, regarding travel, I wouldn’t like to travel to other countries because my work requires me to do so, but I would enjoy traveling on my own to get to know other countries. But if I have to travel for work, I would like to travel to places in Chile.

Finally, I want to add that public administration is a good career, but I still have a lot to learn about it.

Hi! English seems to me a good subject, although I didn’t attend the synchronous classes (because I made a mistake in choosing a timetable) I watched the recorded classes and I understand its importance. In the same way, I think it’s important in the university because of the English texts that we have to read. Also, writing blogs help in fact, to have a better writing and understanding of what you read. About my English, I think I need to improve my pronunciation, it’s easy for me to read and understand it, but to formulate the sentences in my head and then say it, it’s very difficult. To improve this aspect, I should listen more to the correct pronunciation of people who have English as their main language. Time travel to the future (Post 6)

  Hello everyone! I see the future as they show it in the movies, with robots dominating the world, with an alien invasion or with a planet destroyed by climate change. Maybe I'm exaggerating but in many more years I don't see it as impossible (especially destruction by climate change). Obviously I wouldn't want to travel to those futures, but if I had to, I think I would like to travel to a future like the one in the film Wall-e (a Disney sci-fi movie). I imagine that future many centuries from now, it’s a scenario where there’re few humans left but a small hope of living on planet earth continues after finding a small plant. I would like to travel to that future to see what the planet would be like if no real measures were taken to fight climate change, if it would be so terrible or if it would be a habitable planet. Although I doubt it would be habitable, it makes me curious to see the things of today in the future. As for staying or not in that future, the truth...

Changes to my study program (Post 7)

  Hi! The career is public administration, it lasts 5 years approximately. Although the university provides a good education to the students, I think it could be improved. Although I have only been studying for two years, I would mainly change that the professors who teach subjects should really be professors and not just academics in their areas. I say this because there are some who don’t explain the contents well and it isn’t so easy to understand for everyone equally. In fact, the teaching methods have to do with that, now in pandemic, it’s an online teaching that makes learning difficult. About the curriculum, this semester I studied 6 subjects, the most interesting one was "Public administration and political phenomena". That subject mainly teaches the relationship between politicians and bureaucracy, it also analyzes some academic theories and relates bureaucracy to that. For me it was the best subject of the year.
